Have you ever held an officials position in HiH? If so, how many terms?3 or 4 terms
How much availability do you have in an average week for performing mod duties?20+ hours a week
Do you have experience working with HTML/CSS?yes very much so. I code my own web pages and while I know more HTML than CSS I'm a quick learner and have had some classes on CSS
As a mod of this community, what are you prepared to do to help things run smoothly/stay active?weekly roundups are such a good thing but I wouldn't mind seeing them maybe done more often?? Or maybe even having them done a different way. I also think we need to give club leaders a more "personal" warning when they are about to lose their club.
Are there any changes/improvements you can suggest for the community? I would like to give club leaders a better warning as stated above. the community runs well as is but I'd like to work with Mia to see what can be done to implement some great new ides to clubs
Do you have a club yourself? No I do not although I have thought about it before.
Why are you interested in being the mod for this community? Honestly I thought having a term off from most mod activities would be nice but I find myself a little bored. I'd love the challenge and experience.
Have you ever held an officials position in HiH? If so, how many terms? Yes, 3 terms
How much availability do you have in an average week for performing mod duties? 20 hrs
Do you have experience working with HTML/CSS? No
As a mod of this community, what are you prepared to do to help things run smoothly/stay active? Yes by making lists of what activities clubs are having. Maybe keep a chart for all to keep track of. Help leaders of clubs with whatever they need. Offer help and advice for different activities, basically help in anyway that I can.
Are there any changes/improvements you can suggest for the community? Maybe having a few joint club actrivities. Also have the clubs run an activity like the Philiosopher's Stone one that we had this term. Come up with ideasfor activities that will get more people participating in the activities.
Do you have a club yourself? No
Why are you interested in being the mod for this community? I have always wanted to be a leader of a club and to help out with the clubs. This would be a great opportunity for me to do that. I want to be able to help the club leaders come up with ideas and to get more people to particpate in the activities. I would also like to help set up an activity that involves all the clubs.
Have you ever held an officials position in HiH? If so, how many terms? Nope; I'm still a bit of a newbie!
How much availability do you have in an average week for performing mod duties? I'm on at least a couple hours every day. Sometimes a lot more. I have a baby boy who is almost a year old, so it varies, but I usually have some hours when my fiance gets off work/school too.
Do you have experience working with HTML/CSS? Yeah, but it was a while ago. I can do some things, but I dunno how able I am to do say, full layouts anymore.
As a mod of this community, what are you prepared to do to help things run smoothly/stay active? Whatever needs to be done. I'm probably too new to be applying, but if I had guidance, I think I could pull it off. If a club's leader had something come up while they should be, say, judging their activity, I'd step in to allow the activity to continue so the club members didn't get disappointed.
Are there any changes/improvements you can suggest for the community? Again, I'm pretty new, and it seems like y'all have a good set-up going. However, if while doing my duties, I saw something that could be done better, I'd address it, bring it up to the right people, etc.
Do you have a club yourself? Nope
Why are you interested in being the mod for this community? I've been wanting to try my hand at some modding, especially because I'd love to be a Prefect or Order Mod or Sorting/Voting Mod in the future, but the experience would be nice. This community is a very active community, and seems like it would give me a lot of that experience.
Have you ever held an officials position in HiH? If so, how many terms? Yes. In fact, I have held numerous and various mod positions since my second term here.
How much availability do you have in an average week for performing mod duties? This term, I've got quite a lot of free time when it comes to school, which means I'll have about five to six hours a weekday, and the occasional weekend.
Do you have experience working with HTML/CSS? I have a lot of experience with HTML and CSS, actually. I had top marks in my HTML computer class back in high school, for one, and coding websites is one of my minor hobbies. I enjoy playing around with code, finding out what specific tags and attributes do and all that, and I have quite an attention to detail when it comes to layouts.
As a mod of this community, what are you prepared to do to help things run smoothly/stay active? Well, first of all, I'll make sure that the rules are implemented fairly. However, per discussion with the awesome hopefully future co-mod Mia, we will take the Club Leader and Club Members' sides into consideration when making our decision on important matters, like inactivity cuts for club leaders and the like. Things that affect the community as a whole, and such. In case of landmark decisions that just HAVE to be made, the whole community will be able to vote on which policies would be implemented.
That being said, I'm prepared to step into the middle of OMGDRAMAZ to sort things out. I'm prepared to give big penalties, even to my own house, if ever something really bad happens. I'm prepared to defend the rules, and those who adhere to them, to the death (not really, but you get my point). Most importantly, I'm prepared to HAVE FUN and to make sure that everyone else does, too. :)
Are there any changes/improvements you can suggest for the community?
First, weekly reminder posts will be continued, as they are good activity promoters. However, I suggest that these posts be made more visually appealing (with appropriate color-coding!) to be able to catch the members' attention. Priority will be given to activities that end sooner. Maybe we can also add a little "Coming Soon" bit in which we promote upcoming club activities. With the leaders' permission, of course.
Second, I'm thinking of maybe (just maybe) changing the Club Leader application a little, to make sure that the leaders are definitely capable and to make sure that the club they're choosing to lead is something they really are passionate about.
Third, I'm also thinking of a support system for the Club Leaders, maybe to make hh_clubsmods a more active and useful community. For example, in case of club leaders being on leave for a couple of weeks, the said club leader may be temporarily filled in for by another club leader, or one of the club mods or something similar. This would be great to make sure that certain clubs don't just die down because of temporarily absent club leaders, and to make sure that everything is right on schedule.
Aside from those I mentioned above, I do believe that HiH Clubs is running very very smoothly. However, I DO have this idea of increasing club activity by hosting a community-wide competition among the clubs. Like a Triwizard Tournament, perhaps, but BIGGER. >:]
Do you have a club yourself? No, but, as I said, I led a club for more than a year, in previous terms. It was a very enjoyable experience, yes. :)
Why are you interested in being the mod for this community? I find the Clubs Mod position to be a great challenge, as it's where a huge chunk of HiH activity circulates. It's definitely fun, I think, to keep such a large community in check, and making sure everybody's happy. I like happy. :) Also, the prospect of working with caketime is exciting. It's going to be really fun working with Mia, since she's a totally totally awesome person to begin with. &HEARTS;
Have you ever held an officials position in HiH? If so, how many terms?
I currently have one officials position right now, though I've had it for less than a term. I also actually have two club, so I understand both the responsibility involved and the day-to-day workings of hh_clubs.
How much availability do you have in an average week for performing mod duties?
I have lots of time - a few hours a day at the very least. I love HiH, so I'm online much of the time and compulsively check my emails, so I will always be available to answer questions and keep an eye on the clubs.
Do you have experience working with HTML/CSS?
Yes, I do. I have lots of experience with html and though I don't have quite as much with CSS I'm still able to tweak, and even create some of my own, layouts on livejournal.
As a mod of this community, what are you prepared to do to help things run smoothly/stay active?
I'm prepared to be available to answer questions and sooth debates among members. To make sure that my modly duties are upheld to the best of my ability, and to make sure the weekly roundup is thorough and encouraging to members.
Are there any changes/improvements you can suggest for the community?
I know that there are problems with club leaders just suddenly leaving - I would like to implement a two-week notice for leaders who are leaving, so that an activity can still be carried out while applications are going for the next leader.
This doesn't always work, of course, because sometimes someone leaves suddenly, just out of the blue. I think we should also have four general leaders (one for each house!), who would be available to fill in when club leaders suddenly leave, or perhaps go on hiatus. This way, activities stay constant, and there aren't giant gaps inbetween activites of your favorite clubs. The general leader's position would be taken seriously, as there can be major upheaval in the clubs owners, and the general leaders might be needed often.
I'd have to discuss any changes with Sas and the other club mod and the club leaders, of course, but I think it would be worth thinking about.
Do you have a club yourself?
Yes I do, I have two, and because of this I understand how the community works and can be more aware of what club leaders are talking about when they talk about any grievances they have, or any suggestions.
Why are you interested in being the mod for this community?
I would love to be more active in HiH, and hh_clubs is probably tied with my commonroom for the sub-community I spend the most time in. I think the clubs really bring people together, and are a fantastic idea.
This totally isn't late. Voting open for 48 hours.
Everything else is coming...
